FAQ - How to Upload pics to Gallery PDF Print E-mail

Please read carefully

To upload photos to the Gallery you must be a Registered Member and be logged in.

Instructions:

  1. Log in.
  2. Go the Gallery , select "User Panel" and then click on the grey "New PIcture" button.
  3. Give your Photo a Title (but not just Hammond etc.)
  4. Select the Category from the dropdown list (probably "Member Uploaded Photos)
  5. Give your photo a description - where, when, who, why, what it is ... Tongue out
  6. Write your Forum username in the Author field
  7. Use the "Browse" button to locate the photo on your PC
  8. Click on the grey "Upload" button.
  9. Wait until file uploads
  10. Check Gallery and admire your amazing photographic abilities !

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Photos must meet ALL the criteria below or the Uploader will fail:

  1. The photo MUST be a jpg (jpeg, bmp, gifs etc. are rejected)
  2. The photo MUST be larger than 350px wide
  3. The photo MUST be larger than 263px high
  4. The photo MUST be less than 100Kb in size. Be careful because some cameras produce massive digital images, you'll need to reduce them. You can still see great pics if they are a third of this size !
  5. Would be good as well if you could rename your actual files with your username .e.g. jane001.jpg, jane002.jpg; you can still give the photo a title when uploading files named this way. We ask this because the tendancy is to name files like hammond01, hammond02 etc, and everyone does the some thing ! Also it's easier to trace files later if their is a problem.
  6. Don't leave gaps in the names of files e.g. jen 01.jpg must be renamed jen_01.jpg

Note:

  • Members who don't use their Gallery folders will have them deleted.
  • Members who upload objectionable material will be instantly banned.

There is plenty of free Image manipulation software on the web if you need to change the sizes of your Images.

Go to Google and look for Irfanview or Gimp as examples.
